Summerfest 26 Concert I: Kismet

Is it a hypothetical force? A matter of fate? An awareness of an approaching end that sparks the finest work of an artist’s life? Join Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu and the musicians of Summerfest to find out. Seascape’s stone columns, floor-to-ceiling windows, and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean provide the ideal foil for a musical exploration of Kismet by the sea. The afternoon’s program is highlighted by Schubert’s monumental String Quintet (in C), one of his last compositions, as temperamental and ethereal as the sea itself. Greet the performers at a post-concert reception.
